Mother Earth

Inspired by the power of creation of Mother Earth. She is the true powerful goddess who has the power of bring out life from the cracked , scorched, dry earth. She is the only one who can create a beautiful oasis in the midst of a lifeless desert. In Hindu traditions this power of creation is celebrated by creating clay idols and stone sculptures of divine deities. We believe that, with the power of creation, mother earth can bring the clay alive and put the divine soul in the clay idols. Here the mother earth is represented in the form of the clay idol. This is inspired by the clay idol of Devi Durga and the mother Goddess bringing life into the clay idol. A very cherished memory and part of my growing up in Calcutta and the Durgapuja.
